Wednesday, April 1 - 12:00 PM

The Spring Valley Athletic Association continues to monitor the ongoing developments associated with the coronavirus. On March 29, the Federal Government extended its social distancing guidelines through the end of April. On March 31, Governor Abbott declared that all state schools would be closed at least until May 4. Pursuant to the Shelter in Place orders of the Dallas County Judge the SVAA office remains closed until at least May 1.

For now, SVAA is suspending all SVAA events, games and practices, in all Spring sports through May 1. SVAA will continue to monitor events and update the status of its Spring sports as events continue to unfold. Among other options being considered, SVAA is evaluating restarting all programs as soon as facilities become available with some seasons playing a slightly shorter schedule. Depending on when our sports resume, this decision might lead to some seasons extending into June. As we continue to evaluate events, rest assured that SVAA’s primary focus is on providing safe environments for all of our players. In the meantime, we ask everyone to follow the advice from the CDC and do all you can to remain healthy.

Softball

SVAA's goal is to create an environment where every child will play and learn the game. No tryouts are required.

SVAA has been organizing softball leagues for over 35 years. Our T-Ball league is for Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and 1st grade girls. Machine pitch is 2-3rd grades (pitching machine speeds: 2nd at 30mph, 3rd at 32mph), and player pitch is 4-6th grades.

Our Spring season runs mid-March through the first part of June and covers grades PreK-6. Games will be played on both weeknights and weekends. Rain outs will be rescheduled. Practice days and times are scheduled by the coach. There will be standings and tournaments for 2nd grade and up.

Children have to be 4 years old by April 1st to participate in the Pre Kindergarten program.

There is a substitution rule, which states that no player may sit on the bench for two consecutive defensive innings. Each team must bat its roster. Team size maximum is 12 players.

Detailed information about SVAA softball rules can be found in the Coaches' Guide.
