FOOTBALL INFO

SVAA's goal is to create an environment where every child will play and learn the game. No tryouts are required. Every fall, SVAA offers both flag and tackle football programs. Last fall's flag program had approximately 1,120 players (99 teams) and over 590 players (30 teams) in the tackle program. The spring program offers flag and 7v7 leagues. 

Special rules for tackle football: SVAA imposes strict age and weight limitations on all tackle players (see rule book below for details). Each tackle player is required to provide a copy of their birth certificate.  If the tackle player intends to use an SVAA helmet and pads, a $200 equipment deposit is required. This deposit will not be cashed if all equipment issued is returned in good condition by the deadline.

Registration opens:  Monday, May 18, 2026

Registration deadline:  Monday, August 3, 2026 for tackle and Monday, August 17, 2026 for flag

Tackle Jamboree:   Saturday, August 29, 2026

Regular season games begin:   Saturday, September 12, 2026

Last regular season game :  Saturday, November 7, 2026

Playoffs begin: Saturday, November 14, 2026

Late Fee
A non-refundable $20 late charge applies to all registrations made after the deadline and player's team assignment can only be made if space allows.
 
Refund Policy
A $20 administration fee applies on all refunds. Registration fees are non-refundable after the first game.

UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT

Tackle Equipment  
Player : SVAA provides players with a jersey, shoulder pads, and a helmet for the tackle football program. Players will keep their jerseys. A $200 equipment deposit is required and will be returned once equipment is returned. Equipment must be returned clean.    No jewelry may be worn during practice or games .
Coach : Tackling dummy, blocking shield, kicking tee, football, and a repair kit. A $200 equipment deposit is required and will be returned once equipment is returned.
Ball Sizes : 4th Peewee, 5th Junior, and 6th Youth

Flag Equipment
Player : Team jersey is provided to each player. Shorts are the responsibility of the player and can not have pockets. Consult your head coach for proper attire and colors prior to purchase. Players will keep their jerseys. No jewelry may be worn during practices or games . 
Coach : A game ball will be provided. No deposit required. 
Ball Size : 1st - 4th Peewee/K2, 5th Junior, and 6th Youth
