SVAA's goal is to create an environment where every child will play and learn the game. No tryouts are required.
SVAA has been organizing baseball leagues for over 50 years. Over 2,000 participants play in the fall and spring seasons. Our T-Ball league is for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten boys. Machine pitch is 1-3rd grades (pitching machine speeds:1st at 32mph, 2nd at 34mph, 3rd at 37mph), and player pitch is 4-8th grades.
Our Spring season runs mid March through 1st week of June and covers grades PreK-9th. Games will be played on both weeknights and weekends. Rain outs will be rescheduled. Practice days and times are scheduled by the coach. There will be standings and tournaments for grades 1-8.
Our Fall season begins after Labor Day and runs through late October and covers grades PreK-8. Games will be played on Saturday or Sunday only. It is not guaranteed that rainouts or other game cancellations will be made up. Practices are optional and at the discretion of the coach. No jerseys, standings, no tournaments, no trophies.
Children have to be 4 years of age by April 1 to be able to partipate in the Pre Kindergarten Baseball Program.
There is a substitution rule which states that no player may sit on the bench for two consecutive defensive innings. Each team must bat its roster. Team size maximum is 12 players for all grades.
Detailed information about SVAA baseball rules can be found in the Coaches' Guide.
